On the Kung Fu television series, Master Kan advised Caine, his young student, that “Weakness prevails over strength. Gentleness conquers. Become the calm and restful breeze that tames the violent sea.”

Administration of the Mental Finger is an exercise in self-control. It is not for the weak- willed, and can take many years of training to master. The Mental Finger is used when a recipient is deserving of a physical finger, but when safety or decorum prohibits its use.

Flipping the Mental Finger tells the recipient:  I have reached a state of Nirvana that you can never understand, you Dodge-Ram-driving douche-bag from hell.

When to use it: Are you are up against an aggressive driver in a large vehicle who deserves to be given the finger? Do not contend with him, Grasshopper. Be as the willow. Administer the mental finger.

    This is the finger I give the students in my class….. The ‘and now you have detention, plus 50 papers and a phone call home’ finger …. Can’t actually do it but boy can I imagine giving them that that one while I ‘read them their rights’ …laughing all the way to the staff office 😉
